Oracle E-Business Suite (or Oracle EBS) has become one of Oracle’s leading applications within their portfolio.  In Oracle’s own words; “Oracle E-Business Suite is the most comprehensive suite of integrated, global business applications that enable organizations to make better decisions, reduce costs, and increase performance.” They encompass what business users might be familiar with as ERP, CRM, HCM and Help Desk systems as well as having additional applications for project management, procurement, finance and other departmental point-solutions. Oracle EBS is definitely an appealing on-stop-shop alternative to having multiple vendors for the diverse systems mentioned above (often resulting in siloed information).

But the reality is that not all the applications within Oracle EBS are “home grown” or created on the same Oracle platform. Many of the applications are best-of-breed applications that were acquired by Oracle including Siebel Systems, JD Edwards, Hyperion and of course Peoplesoft. While these applications can run and pull data from a singular Oracle database model, they have different architectures and run on different technology stacks (Oracle reports server, Apache Web Server, Sun Java etc). This presents several challenges when attempting to run a report on data which may span a variety of applications within the suite. Lantern BI, a modern Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics and Data Integration platform, can help to solve these reporting challenges with its unique Metadata Architecture.

The Power of the Lantern BI Platform

Unlike traditional BI which treats metadata as a static entity, Lantern utilizes a dynamic metadata architecture which eliminates silos of business critical data and allows information to be seen in the context across all applications of Oracle EBS. This architecture easily manages changes in data or configuration made from any host system (the Peoplesoft application as an example) and intelligently maps it to the records of the other dependent systems (like the CRM) to provide the most accurate, real-time reporting.

Reserve your spot today for our upcoming Webinar, Winning with Lantern Dynamic Metadata and Oracle EBS, on July 20 at 10:00 pm PT/ 1:00 pm ET.  You’ll learn how to empower your organization to optimize your Oracle EBS environment and turn information across all business-critical applications into valuable, actionable insight.  Some of the key topics we’ll discuss during the webinar include how to:

  • Intelligently manage changes in configuration between the host and dependent applications
  • Automatically add new attributes, fields, and dimensions to an existing data model
  • Intuitively access metadata based on the security rules in place for all users and roles

We hope to see you at the Webinar next week.
